Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award
This award has been named after Late Prime Minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi and symbolically represents Women Power. This State Level Award would be given to the women who came to the top through selfless and dedicated work and become a role model for others.
Eligibility
A woman who has done exemplary working following areas: -
• Support and Rehabilitation of Women and Children in especially difficult circumstances like destitute women and children, widows, victims of atrocities and conflict disabled women and children, aged women etc.
• Promoting self-help group/ women empowerment initiatives.
• Established their own business/ industry and have contributed to the development of women in small span of time besides entrepreneurship.
• Exemplary work/achievement in public service.

This Award shall consist of: -
i. A Cash prize of Rs.1.50 lac (Rupees One Lac Fifty Thousand Only)

Who can nominate ?
• Nominations shall be invited through advertisements in leading Hindi and English newspapers and via an online portal, in the prescribed format.
• Applications shall be submitted in the prescribed format.
(a) Two Members of Parliament (MPs)
(b) One Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA)
(c) The Committee may also Suo motu nominate eligible candidates under the scheme.
• All nominations shall be placed before the district-Level Recommending Committee, headed by the Deputy Commissioner.
• The district level Committee shall scrutinize applications, and the committee will forward only those with satisfactory Police verification to the Women & Child Development Department, Haryana, Panchkula.
• Applications shall be submitted in the prescribed format.

Selection Process
• An online portal will be used for the submission of applications.
• All recommendations received through the portal will be forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner (DC)/Head of the Department. Deputy Commissioner (DC)/Head of the Department will review the applications and further recommend eligible candidates to the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department
• The nominee must possess valid Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP);
• The achievement of the nominee in the relevant field should be clear and well documented.
• Nominee should be alive on the date of nomination.
• The achievements of the nominee should be verified and subjected to objective appraisals.
• Preference should be given to women who have come up in mainstream of life after a great deal of struggle and adversity.
• The sole criteria for the selection would be performance and her dedication for the cause of women.
• No one should receive the same award more than once, ensuring fair recognition and giving everyone an equal opportunity to be acknowledged.
• The nominee shall submit the application through the online portal, along with a duly signed affidavit declaring that no adverse matter is pending against her/institution in any forum, department, or court. It shall further be affirmed that, in case any information is found to be incorrect or any mismanagement is detected at any stage in the future, the award and the associated monetary benefit shall be liable to be returned to the Government.
